  • Check the outlet mall hours in advance and around holidays. Hours may vary from normal mall hours. Early closures around Thanksgiving and Christmas are common.
  • Review store directories online to map out your plan of attack. Note any must-visit stores and where they are located on site maps.
  • Many outlets offer coupon books so make sure you pick one up when you arrive.
  • Check outlet websites for printable coupons and promotions you can use in-store. Sign up for email lists to receive sale alerts and offers.

  • Don’t assume outlet merchandise is lower quality. But do inspect items closely and try on clothing, as sizing may differ.
  • Wear comfortable walking shoes; outlet malls can have vast square footage and many purchases mean plenty of bags.
  • Bring your own reusable water bottle and light snacks to save money while shopping. Food/drink costs add up.
